Clear and simple — what the app collects, what it doesn't, and how your data is handled.
Pražská MHD is developed and maintained by Martin Molík. The app is available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch through the Apple App Store.
| Data type | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| GPS location | Show nearby stops and vehicles on the map; navigation in journey planning | On-device only |
| Saved places (Home, Work, Favourites) |
Quick access to departures from regular locations; synced between iPhone, iPad, Watch, and widgets | On-device only |
| Search history | Suggestions when repeating a journey search | On-device only |
| Stop timetable database | Database of 5,000+ PID stops downloaded on first launch and refreshed every 7 days | On-device only |
The app requests location access while in use (When In Use) to display nearby stops and the interactive map. Optionally, always-on access (Always) can be enabled for automatic widget and Live Activity background refresh.
Your GPS coordinates are sent only as a query parameter to the Golemio API (to fetch nearby stops). They are never stored, aggregated, or otherwise processed beyond this single request. Location access can be revoked at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Pražská MHD.
The following services receive network requests to power the app's features. No personal data is shared — only the parameters required for each query (location, stop ID, time) are transmitted.
The app lets you purchase a PID transit ticket by SMS to number 90206. The SMS is pre-filled automatically — the user sends it themselves from the native Messages app. Pražská MHD does not send the SMS, does not see it, and does not process its content or your phone number. All data related to the SMS ticket is handled solely by your mobile carrier and PID.
Data (saved places, settings, departures) is shared between iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and widgets via App Groups and WatchConnectivity. This sharing happens locally on your device — data does not leave the Apple ecosystem and is not accessible to any third party.
The app may be included in iCloud backups if iOS performs a device backup automatically. Any such data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
All communication with external APIs uses HTTPS exclusively. API keys are stored securely in the app's configuration. The app stores no sensitive personal data and therefore does not require special at-rest encryption.
The app is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe your child has provided personal data to the app, please contact us.
This policy may be updated with new versions of the app. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify users through the App Store release notes.
